Mad on Scenery

During the summer months you may not see an awful lot of the old geezer but this does not mean that he is off sunning himself on the Welsh Riviera. Oh no, he is working hard at his home building scenery for the wargaming tables for which we intend to have a grand roll out in September.

At present he is putting together the pieces needed to make a fortified manor house, based on the real Stokesay Castle just outside of Craven Arms. This will be used to as a center-piece for Warmachine and Hordes and can be used for Warhammer fantasy battles as well as historical gaming.

This is just the first project and the next one will be to get a Normandy Table for Flames of War scale.

AT-43 and Infinity boards will follow…. watch this space for more news

sure - rather than a large castle like Windosr or Warwick or even Ludlow it is a fortified manor house. These were quite common in this part of the world due to the border warfare and raiding between the English and the Welsh that went on for many years in the Middle Ages.

It is managed by English Herritage who state that it is the finest preserved example of its type. Certainly it fits very well into the ideal view of a small castle and is perfect for fantasy and historic gaming…
